For these issues, we have found four solutions using programs in our file archive. In addition, we have divided the solutions to the problems in two categories. A free solution and our recommended solution. Typically, the free solution will work almost as well as our recommended solution. The difference mainly consists in the ease of it for you. The free solution will often require a little more IT knowledge and a little more work from your side than our recommended solution. The recommended solution is selected based on where you get the most value per paid dollar, and typically the solution will not cost more than a few hundred dollars, which, in turn, can save you a lot of trouble. Security

First and foremost, we must ensure that there are no gaps in your PC's security. These holes could allow viruses, spyware, and other things to infiltrate your computer and wipe it down, exploit it / its Internet connection, exploit your personal information, files, etc.

The free solution

The free solution is really good, but not complete. It protects you against viruses effectively, but a number of smaller, but still dangerous holes remain open. Eg. you will not be protected from hackers, your personal data will not be backed up, etc. However, there is also a solution to most of this, so please read on. First of all, you must have a good free antivirus program. We recommend both AVG Antivirus Free Edition and AntiVir. Both programs ensure you well, but AVG is currently. most user-friendly, we mean here at DLC.dk. The case with these free programs, however, is that they are free because they try to get you to buy a premium version of the program. This can be annoying and for people without the great knowledge of IT a little scary as you get to know that one's PC may be at risk. Now you're well protected from viruses. Then we need to have a firewall installed on your PC (Remember to turn Windows built-in after installation, if you use this). It protects against eg. hackers. Here we can recommend ZoneAlarm Free, which ensures you good against unauthorized entry / exit traffic. You are now very well secured, free of charge. But you do not get the same protection as our recommended solution, which is also a much more user-friendly and manageable solution.

In short, you download, install, try and buy Norton 360. As the name suggests, the program protects your PC on all sides and edges. Embedded in this one application are antivirus, antispyware, firewall, auto online backup and a number of other security measures. Drivers

In short, drivers are small pieces of software that make the hardware of your PC communicate with the rest of the system. Without drivers, your graphics card, motherboard, monitor etc. will not work. With incorrect drivers installed, your devices that are involved will not work either. With old drivers, your PC may slow or crash. In other words, it's important that your drivers are the right ones and that they are the most recently updated.

The free solution

You can update your drivers yourself. You can find all the drivers that you need with the manufacturer of each and every one of your hardware devices. Download.dk has a nice overview, in Danish, containing drivers from which you can download these for free. This requiresHowever, it is a good knowledge of IT and some hours of work per month. You can also download the popular freeware software, SlimDrivers. SlimDrivers finds old and wrong drivers on your PC and updates them for you.

The recommended solution

Our most popular driver update program is DriverScanner. The free solution

The free solution actually consists of several solutions, as we do not know about a freeware program that can fix all of these things in one hug. 1) A program that thoroughly and continuously defragmentes your hard drive (not relevant to people with flash HD). Over time, data is randomly distributed on your hard drive. If we say your hard drive has from 1-100, then an application or game may be in place 1, 56, and 100. Your computer will now need more time running the program than if it was collected for example. spaces 1, 2 and 3. The Defraggler program can effectively defragment your drives and solve this problem. Tip: You can also use Windows built-in defragmentation software. 2) A controversial subject is the registry. Half believe that bug fixes can make your computer dull, others think it's a mess. Based on practical tests on DLC.dk's office computers, we believe it is important - but most of the PC's startup.
