VIRUSfighter is one of several programs from the Danish company SPAMfighter, built on top of an already known engine—a white-label product. We have nothing negative to say about VIRUSfighter’s performance, but we have not independently tested it against similar products.
However, in fall 2014 we thoroughly reviewed all SPAMfighter titles on our site, as we routinely do with all listings, and they scored well below average. In our view, these are rebranded versions of existing programs marketed under the SPAMfighter name rather than unique technology.
Our immediate take on VIRUSfighter: "Why take the chance?" A small vendor like SPAMfighter versus major security developers such as Symantec and McAfee doesn’t sound like a winning combination for antivirus software that demands significant expertise.
