Film in a presentation

You can insert movies, animated GIF files or Flash files in PowerPoint to create "live " images. This may be useful if you want to emphasize a message for a group of listeners. Movie PowerPoint supports the most common movie formats such as MPEG or AVI and more versions of these as. eg. mpg and mov. A typical movie can be the company's new commercial movie. You can use a movie for educational purposes or to perform a demonstration.

Animated GIF files

Animation effects can be obtained using animated GIF files. It's not a movie, but a series of drawn characters that appear quickly after each other, creating an animation. Often they are used as a fun effect in your presentation. There are a lot of available GIF animations under Multimedia Clip.

Flash files

Flash files are typically used for graphic animations on websites. The advantage of Flash is that you can use the same image multiple times. If you have animated graphics created using Adobe Macromedia Flash and saved it as a Shockwave file with the swf file extension name, you can play the file in a PowerPoint presentation using the ActiveX object called Shockwave Flash Object, and Adobe Macromedia Flash Player.

Insert movie from file

You can add movies from a file via Insert | Media Clip | Film | Movie from file... "" In the Insert Movie dialog box, select the desired movie and then click OK. When you insert a movie on a slide, decide how to start playback in the slide show. Playback of the movie can be done automatically when viewing the slide or when clicking on the movie itself. "" Movies are chained with the presentation and not included in it as a copy. When inserting a linked movie, a chain is created for the current location of the movie. If you then move the movie to a new location, PowerPoint can not find it when the movie is playing. TIP: Before inserting your movie into the presentation, it is smart to copy the movie to the same file folder. When creating a chain for the movie, PowerPoint can always find the movie if it is saved in the folder for the presentation. Then the presentation can then be moved to another folder or computer. To make sure that the linked files are available in the same folder as your presentation, you can use the Package to CD-Read option. More in the Import and Export module.
