Jardinains is a brick-breaker arcade game where you destroy bricks by bouncing a flying ball up into them. But there’s a twist to the classic formula: your enemies are garden gnomes. It’s hard to tell who started the feud, but one thing is certain—the gnomes are out to get you. They throw flowerpots, and if they hit your paddle, it temporarily freezes.
There are several ways to come out on top. Power-ups make the action easier as you go. Hit a gnome with the ball and he’ll tumble down screaming—then you can even use him as a “ball” to smash more bricks. The developer clearly used plenty of imagination to make such a simple concept so entertaining.
But simplicity is the key. There isn’t a lot of variety, and it’s not the kind of game you’ll play for hours on end. It is, however, the perfect pick-up-and-play title for train rides or airport waits.
