Show friends, family, or anyone else what you’re doing in your favorite game. Open Broadcaster Software (OBS) is completely free to use and includes plenty of guides to help you get set up. If you want to livestream, you’ll need a platform. The most popular services are Twitch.tv and YouTube. They only require you to create an account, which is of course free.
Open Broadcaster Software is the most widely used program for setting up a livestream and, in many cases, a favorite recording tool as well. Note that to livestream at optimal resolution, you’ll also need a decent upload speed. If your upload is under 5 Mbps, you might not be able to stream in full HD. However, there’s a feature that lets the software leverage your processor if bandwidth is limited. For local recording, your upload speed isn’t relevant.
