If you worry about the sensitive data stored on your PC, ParetoLogic Privacy Controls might be just what you need. The developer promises the program can remove your web browser history, temporary files, and more. We tried the free demo, but you can also buy a license for the full version for about $25.
The interface is clearly inspired by the developer’s other products. The menu on the right lets you run scans, schedule scans, and tweak advanced settings. In our scan it found browser history and various items in Windows, including recent searches and similar traces. You can’t remove these in the demo, but we doubt many people would pay to clean up such harmless files anyway—many of them are easy to delete yourself. We cleared the history in all installed browsers, yet ParetoLogic Privacy Controls still claimed it could find more.
Whether ParetoLogic Privacy Controls is right for you is up to you, but we recommend trying the demo first before paying over $15 for a license.
