XBMC is an award-winning digital media center. XBMC is available for Linux, OSX, Windows and the original Xbox. Although XBMC works great as a standard media player application for your PC, it is designed to be an ideal companion for your HTPC (Home Theater PC).
XBMC supports an almost endless number of remote controls. Combined with a clean interface and a powerful skinning engine, XBMC is a natural fit for the living room. XBMC can handle virtually all popular audio and video formats. You can stream multimedia from anywhere in your home or directly from the internet.
XBMC can play CDs and DVDs directly from the disc or from a disc image file (ISO). Nearly all archive formats on your hard drive, as well as files inside ZIP and RAR archives, can be played. It can scan your media and automatically create a personal library with cover art, descriptions, and fan art. Additional features include playlist, slideshow, and weather functions, turning XBMC into a full-fledged multimedia jukebox for your PC.
