Here at Holyfile.com, we love open-source software because it's free, so this time we took a look at another one called GanttProject. Personally, I'm not an expert in this area, but it can be used to create so-called Gantt charts, which you can read more about on Wikipedia here.
We tested the Mac version on a MacBook Pro running the latest version of OS X at the time, Mavericks. The interface is very simple and easy to use, but it does look dated in many places. Creating a new Gantt chart is straightforward, but many other aspects can be confusing, so we strongly recommend that new users visit this page for more documentation.
Based on our brief experience with GanttProject, it seems like a solid program, but new users will need some time to get familiar with its various features.
