No internet? No problem. Kiwix for Windows, available as a free download, gives you offline access to Wikipedia and your favorite content.
Ever taken an important test at school where Wikipedia would have helped, but internet access wasn’t allowed? Kiwix is a free app that lets you download content for offline viewing, including sites like Wikipedia.
Kiwix is available on multiple platforms, but in our test we focused on the Mac version, which we found simple and easy to use. After installing—just drag Kiwix into your Applications folder—we tried downloading the English Wikipedia. Since the file was over 2.5 GB, we opted for a smaller edition instead. It worked without issues, and it’s a smart way to store knowledge for later use.
Kiwix is an excellent tool, so if you need Wikipedia in a situation without internet access, this is an elegant solution.
