One of the best things about Windows 7 has always been its intuitive window management. With Moom, many of those smart features come to macOS—and you can try it free. The full version, available on the developer’s website and in the Mac App Store, costs about $8.
As with most Mac apps, you can place Moom anywhere on your system before launching it. After that, it runs in the background as if it were built in. To access its features, hover over the green zoom button in any window—then choose options like full screen, split screen, or restore to the original size.
Moom also lets you create custom hotkeys, so you can control windows directly from the keyboard. You can enable a Windows 7–style feature to resize and snap windows by dragging them to the edge of the screen.
Overall, Moom’s interface and window-management features are so polished that it feels like they should be part of macOS. Since they aren’t, most Mac users will love Moom—though in today’s world of small paid apps, the full version’s price feels a bit high.
