Music Collector — now known as CLZ Music — is music cataloging software that helps you organize your physical collection, including CDs and vinyl records. The software is available as a mobile app (iOS and Android) and as a web-based solution for Windows and macOS.
It works by scanning the barcode on your CDs or records with your phone, or by searching manually in CLZ’s large music database. It then automatically fetches details like artist, album title, track list, cover art, and release year, compiling everything into a clear, searchable catalog.
We tested CLZ Music using both barcode scanning and manual search. Scanning was fast and accurate, especially for standard CD releases, while rarer pressings sometimes required minor manual adjustments.
Note that CLZ Music is no longer free. The software requires an annual subscription, with separate pricing for the mobile app and the web version.
CLZ Music is designed primarily for collectors who want full control and visibility over their physical music collection — it’s not a music playback app.
