A spoofed (fake) website is typically designed to look almost identical to the real one—for example, ebay.com or citibank.com—but the address (URL) is slightly different and can be confusing. Attackers try to lure unsuspecting users to these fake sites via phishing emails or links in forums, hoping they will enter confidential, sensitive information such as credit card details. SpoofStick makes it much easier to spot these fraudulent websites by showing the most relevant domain information to guide and protect you.
The program is only compatible with IE and Mozilla Firefox, though it may not work reliably with newer versions of either browser.
