Soldner – Secret Wars: When Mercenaries Set the Agenda
Soldner – Secret Wars is a tactical action game where you take command of a squad of high-tech mercenaries. Unlike many traditional war games, it centers on unconventional conflicts where power balance, economic resources, and strategic choices matter just as much as raw firepower.
We tested the game on a standard Windows 11 PC and found intense firefights, deep planning, and a strong emphasis on player-driven decisions — you choose how and why missions are carried out.
Gameplay and Features

In Soldner, you can customize your mercenary squad. That means you don’t just pick weapons and vehicles — you also tailor tactics, formations, and movement patterns.
One of the game’s most interesting aspects is the dynamic economy: your battlefield decisions affect how many funds you’ll have for future missions. Overspend early and the next objectives become much harder.
The game also features a massive arsenal of vehicles — from tanks to helicopters — which can dramatically swing a battle when used wisely.
Graphics and Design in Soldner - Secret Wars
The visuals aren’t on par with modern releases, but they’re still detailed enough to deliver a convincing war experience. Environments range from barren deserts to dense forests, and the map variety keeps scenarios from feeling repetitive.
On our system, the game ran stably with few technical issues, even during large-scale battles on screen.
Challenges and Controls
Controls can feel a bit heavy at first, especially when switching between infantry and vehicles. That quickly becomes part of the charm, as you really need to master each system to succeed.
The AI is aggressive and can surprise you with tactical maneuvers, delivering a genuine sense of challenge.
Strengths and Weaknesses
The game’s biggest strength is its blend of strategy and action, which makes it deeper than many other titles in the genre. In turn, it also demands that you learn its mechanics — it’s not a game you just jump into for a quick burst of action.
