The Bard’s Tale III: Thief of Fate

The Bard’s Tale III: Thief of Fate

The Bard’s Tale III: Thief of Fate – A god threatens everything you know.

The epic role-playing trilogy reaches its climax in The Bard’s Tale III: Thief of Fate, where you once again assemble your party of heroes—either imported from earlier games or created as brand-new characters—and face the greatest threat yet: a god determined to wipe out the world.

The game begins shortly after the events of The Bard’s Tale II. You find yourself outside the ruins of Skara Brae, which has been utterly destroyed by Tarjan, a malevolent god who aims to level the remaining cities and dimensions as well. Now it’s up to you and your adventurers to travel through different realms and time dimensions, find old allies, and stop the divine threat.

The game expands the classic dungeon crawler formula with:

  • 🌌 Parallel-dimensional journeys where you visit exotic, otherworldly realms
  • 🗡️ More character classes and specializations
  • 🧠 Puzzles and advanced traps that demand tactics and logic
  • ⚔️ A deeper combat system and a higher difficulty
  • 🎶 The bard’s magical abilities matter more than ever

You still get the iconic Gold Box-style, but Thief of Fate feels markedly larger and more ambitious than its predecessors—both in scope and storytelling. It’s old-school RPG at its most epic and demanding.
